Anime with an overpowered main character

Anime with an overpowered main character

Anime with an overpowered main character is what everyone likes to watch — but what if the hero is overpowered and decides to hide his power? This kind of story makes us even more curious to watch the anime.

Hey guys, it’s Anime here! Today, we’re going to take a look at the top 10 anime where the overpowered main character hides his power at school. And trust me, it’s really tough to hide something at school when everyone’s paying attention to you.

At number 10, we have Demon King Daimo.

This anime is set in an elite magic school where aspiring magicians learn to control their mana. One day, a transfer student named Akuto Sai arrives. New students are required to go through an analysis by the Artificial Spirit, which predicts future occupations with 100% accuracy. Surprisingly, the Artificial Spirit predicts Akuto will become the next Demon King.

Once dreaming of becoming a high priest, Akuto must now spend his school life carrying the burden of becoming the ultimate evil, all while his true powers awaken and he goes through one misunderstanding after another.

I actually found the original setting very intriguing. After the first two episodes, my impression was that it was good enough — it didn’t even have to be edgy. The fantasy setting had a lot of potential for interesting story development and obstacles built right in.

It even had a super cool background where Akuto’s self-introduction sounded like the real Demon King who appeared 100 years ago. I was really enjoying it.

Though there is one problem: everything felt too rushed, and the ending’s logic was a little disappointing. But overall, it was a good show.

At number 9, we have Code : Breaker.

This anime starts with a girl named Sakura Koji who one day sees what appears to be a boy murdering people with blue fire. The next day, after finding no evidence to suggest it was real, she discovers that her school has a new transfer student — surprise, surprise, it’s the boy she saw wielding blue fire.

He has the power to burn people with his flames and kills those who are evil or criminals without hesitation, almost like lighting a cigarette.

Despite this, he’s a very cool and likable character. There’s a reason behind his cruel ways of killing, and he isn’t depicted as emo or dramatic. Instead, he keeps his cool attitude regardless of the circumstances.

This boy, named Ugami Rei, is what’s called a Code\:Breaker, and the difficulty of hiding blue fire powers while attending school definitely earns this anime a spot on the list.

At number 8, we have The Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero.

Have you ever wanted to know exactly what happens when the hero slays the enemy and saves the day? Well, Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero is for you.

The story sounds promising from the start and begins with our conceited, overpowered protagonist Akatsuki leaving a foreign land where he was summoned to defeat an evil dark lord. Instead of just taking a trinket as a souvenir, he kidnaps the vanquished lord’s daughter as his personal consolation prize.

Once they return to Earth, he and Miu are forced to join Babel — a school focused on extracting and enhancing the skills Akatsuki and others learned in the foreign land.

The anime has a massive amount of fan service. It may not suit everyone; from the very first episode, we already see Akatsuki taking the bras of several maids and many shots focusing on Miu’s body and chest. I have a feeling it only increases.

I’m a little worried because this story could be worth watching, but sometimes fan service can lower the impact and quality.

At number 7, we have Valvrave the Liberator.

Our ultra-heroic, super manly protagonist tries to confess his love to his sundari crush — definitely not a cliché. Then, out of nowhere, his school gets attacked by space Nazis, and he dramatically watches his beloved crush die.

After that, he pilots a robot, gives up his humanity, and becomes a vampire.

This anime is very different. It’s the kind of different that may turn people away simply because it doesn’t follow the usual conventions of the sci-fi or mecha genres. But it does go outside the box.

Whether that’s good or not depends on you — but to me, it’s what hooked me to the show. Especially since you don’t expect mecha and vampires to coexist.

One of the nice things about the story is the twists in the plot, so you never know what to expect. The art is well done, especially in the mecha and fight sequences.

Go ahead and give this one a try — you might end up liking it for its weirdness.

At number 6, we have Blue Exorcist.

The story follows Rin Okumura, who wants to defeat Satan because he killed his foster father. Despite being the son of Satan himself, Rin heads off to exorcist school with his brother and gains like-minded allies who aid him in his mission.

Between all that, there are school days filled with training, developing skills, and learning what it takes to be an exorcist. There are also filler moments and elements that expand the world — like familiars, ranks of exorcists, and different abilities.

All in all, Blue Exorcist does a decent job. The show takes a darker, stranger turn, which was both expected and unexpected in a way I can’t quite explain. I can’t pinpoint exactly what I liked about it, but I enjoyed it very much overall. Some parts were less enjoyable, but I had fun watching the whole thing.

At number 5, we have The Fruit of Grisaia.

This is the story of a small group of teenagers with problems — sad problems, generally psychological trauma or darker pasts that cause them to be unable to fit into society.

Introducing Mihama Academy, a specially funded high school dedicated solely to educating students who can no longer attend normal schools. As a result, they’re all a bunch of “crazy” people.

Let’s watch the overpowered main character, Yuji, as he tries to live a normal life and keep things secretive. But with only five other female students, this is quite difficult.

Yuji gets to know all of them to the point where he helps bring them out of their traumatized states and basically saves them from themselves. This makes things super difficult when he has to deal with a burden of his own.

This anime is, in a sense, a hidden masterpiece among popular titles — a breath of fresh air compared to typical anime out there. I can honestly say I love this anime.

At number 4, we have Full Metal Panic!.

You know, it’s hard enough to hide something at school — but in this anime, it’s even harder to hide a secret when you’re an overpowered main character and not even a student.

This is the situation Sousuke Sagara finds himself in when he goes undercover as a student to protect a girl named Kaname Chidori, who has an amazing ability to create powerful machinery and devices.

Sousuke’s mission is to make sure Kaname doesn’t fall into enemy hands. This mission is complicated by the fact that Sousuke was raised in a battlefield, not a normal upbringing.

This school anime is filled with action and comedy. Our overpowered main character tries to hide his power but uses it when necessary. It’s very entertaining and packed with action sequences that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

At number 3, we have The Disastrous Life of Saiki K..

The protagonist, Saiki, is a boy born with psychic powers in a normal world. He can read minds, teleport, and restore people and things to their previous states — and those are just a few examples of what he can do.

Saiki is so powerful that if he wanted, he could take control of the Earth in just a few days.

Is that his intention? No. He just wants to live a quiet life — and I can already tell you that he isn’t even close to having one.

In conclusion, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is a very original and hilarious comedy full of lovable characters that will make you laugh from start to finish.

If you’re a fan of comedy anime, make sure to watch this one. And if you’re not, I still heavily recommend giving it a try — it will probably surprise you.

At number 2, we have School Rumble.

School Rumble doesn’t have a real plot. It just skips around the completely unrealistic comedic life of high school kids and a tough delinquent.

The badass delinquent Harima is madly in love with Tenma — a clueless and innocent girl who acts like a complete idiot. Then there’s a whole load of side characters all mixed up in a love octagon — or maybe even bigger.

Basically, the guys in the story are all somewhat perverts, and they’re all in love with specific girls, trying to impress or win their hearts by doing the funniest things I’ve seen in a show.

Ah yes, this show is the definition of an anime rom-com because it’s hilariously unrealistic.

How I wish my school days were like what happens in this show! Nonetheless, it was a great, enjoyable watch.

And finally, at number 1, we have Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.

This story is definitely a unique one — at least to me.

A high school student, Iruma, gets sold to a demon by his terrible parents. But instead of eating him like normal demons would, the demon he’s sold to decides to make Iruma his grandson and send him to demon school as an honor student.

The only problem is that not every demon is as nice as his granddad. That means Iruma has to keep the fact that he’s human a secret — or risk getting eaten.

This makes for a lot of funny moments as he tries to cover up his secret while having fun at his new school.

This anime is a must-watch for almost everyone. If you like comedy mixed with demons and magic, definitely give this one a shot.
